Co-Existing Future for Urban and Rural
CHIIKI KYOSO COLLEGE was founded from the idea that going back and forth between urban and rural area to solve each other’s problems together, we can somehow create a happy future for those who live in both areas. It is a place for Project Based Learning to co-create a better future for 5 areas; Nishiawakura-son in Okayama prefecture, Kamiyama-cho and Kamikatsu-cho in Tokushima prefecture, Ama-cho in Shimane prefecture, and Onagawa-cho in Miyagi prefecture.
Challenges
Create a Future Together with Different Values and Culture
CHIIKI KYOSO COLLEGE has started its project to co-create a future with social entrepreneurs from 5 model areas who’re eager to challenge. It aims to make a place where urban and rural areas with different values and culture can co-exist in the society with a decreasing population. Besides, it also has a purpose to be a base to make fellows from different sectors, and to foster human resources who are capable of making a new co-creating models in order to face uncertain future. Therefore, we needed to design its visual easier to explain that CHIIKI KYOSO COLLEGE is an educational place for learning co-creating eco systems in order to invite various lecturers and establish a curriculum for that.
Solutions
Web Branding that Narrows Down Its Target
We started from building Visual Communication to decide what kind of information shall we offer, and to tell people what our ideal future is like through the website of CHIIKI KYOSO COLLEGE. We deepened the discussion of what we should visualize, and what we should not. As a consequence, we built a website that narrows down its target to the business person who thrives in metropolis by designing information, and expressing the brand’s substantial part in the logo mark.
Results
It Succeeded to Gather Students Continuously
By designing information and building Visual Communication, we could tell people intelligibly what we do and what kind of policy do we have in CHIIKI KYOSO COLLEGE. After we opened the college, a lot of students came to take lectures, and every year, students who have various unique characteristics graduate from college to connect urban and rural areas.
